Philadelphia Cricket Club
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | Founded in 1854
Philadelphia is one of the great golf centers in the United States and at its heart is The Philadelphia Cricket Club, the only club in America with a different golf course constructed in each of the last three centuries. The nation's oldest country club was founded in 1854, and in 1920. Philadelphia Cricket Club commissioned one of its members, A.W. Tillinghast, to create the golf course now known as Wissahickon. The course opened for play in 1922, and underwent a complete restoration in 2013-14. In 2016, Wissahickon hosted the PGA Constellation SENIOR PLAYERS Championship. Most recently in 2024 PCC hosted the countries best amateurs at the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship. In May of 2025 PCC will host the Truist Championship bringing the top 70 players on the PGA Tour to Wissahickon. Golfweek has recognized the course as one of "America's Top 100 Classic Courses" numerous times.
